How to Use in 4 Simple Steps:

<li>Select whether you want to create a stereo wigglegram (only available on dual camera devices) or a sequential wigglegram.</li>
<li>Aim the target box at your subject and tap the photo button, ensuring that the object you wish to measure is within the yellow target box.</li>
<li>After capturing the wigglegram, align the two transparent pictures so that the object overlaps seamlessly.</li>
<li>Optimize your wigglegram by applying filters, adjusting the speed, and easily share your creation with friends by tapping the Checkmark button.</li>
</ol>

Tips for Beautiful Wigglegrams:

<li>Keep the camera as steady as possible while capturing your shots.</li>
<li>Favor shooting in well-lit conditions for optimal results.</li>
<li>Frame your subject from a distance of at least 2 feet (~60 cm) away from the camera.</li>

Background:

Wiggle stereoscopy, also referred to as wiggle 3-D or wobble 3-D, is a technique that brings stereograms to life by animating the left and right images. This creates a sense of depth through parallax and changes in the occlusion of background objects. Unlike other stereo display techniques, both eyes are presented with the same image.

While wiggle stereoscopy allows for perceiving stereoscopic images, it is important to note that it is not a "true" three-dimensional stereoscopic display format as each eye does not receive a separate view. The apparent stereo effect is achieved by synchronizing the wiggle timing and parallax with the visual cortex's processing.

Wiggling works similarly to how a transitional pan or tracking shot in a film provides depth information. The visual cortex can infer distance from motion parallax, which is the relative speed of perceived motion between different objects on the screen. In nature, many small animals bob their heads to create motion parallax (wiggling) to better estimate distance before jumping.
